Activities Report 2023-2024

The Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Sarvam has been actively involved in various community service projects throughout the year 2023-24. Here’s a detailed report of their activities:

July 2023

• Let’s Paint Hope Together: Hosted an event at Raj Thal on July 22nd, 2023, focused on creating hope and positive change.
• Greenepreneur Sustainable Design Awards: Sponsored the Greenepreneur Sustainable Design Awards on July 29th, 2023, promoting sustainable practices and innovation. The event was powered by Boho Homes and supported by the Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Sarvam.
• Wheel Chair Donation: Donated a wheelchair on July 12th, 2023, improving the mobility and independence of an individual in need.

August 2023

• Friendship Day Potluck Dinner: Organized a potluck dinner on August 6th, 2023, at Saluja Cottage, fostering camaraderie and fellowship among members.
• Financial Literacy and Accounting Awareness Program: Conducted a program on August 9th, 2023, to educate community leaders of Self Help groups of AMC East about financial literacy and accounting principles.
• Blood Donation Camp: In collaboration with Shri Batrisi Jain Uvak Sangh Trust, organized a blood donation camp on August 13th, 2023, collecting 111 units of blood.
• Skill Development Program: Hosted a skill development program on August 15th, 2023, empowering individuals with valuable skills for employment and economic independence.
• Blood Donation Camp: Hosted a blood donation camp on July 1st, 2023, collecting 30 units of blood.
• JITO Skillathon: Participated in the JITO Skillathon, a record-breaking event focused on skill development, with three members serving as distinguished speakers.

September 2023

• Rummy Circle Fellowship Meet: Organized a Rummy Circle fellowship meet on September 4th, 2023, bringing together 55 members from three participating Rotary clubs for a fun and social gathering.
• Sharing is Caring Project: Celebrated the Sharing is Caring project with a meal for 130 student beneficiaries on September 16th, 2023.
• Book Donation: Donated 400 books to 100 students on September 16th, 2023, promoting literacy and education.
• Blood Donation Camp: Conducted a blood donation camp on September 30th, 2023, collecting 25 units of blood.
• Sarvam Ke Sur: Hosted a musical event called Sarvam Ke Sur on September 30th, 2023, providing entertainment and cultural enrichment.
• Engineers’ Day and Doctors’ & CA Day: Celebrated Engineers’ Day on September 15th and Doctors’ & CA Day on July 1st, recognizing the contributions of professionals in these fields.

October – November 2023

• Garba Night with Rotarians: Organized a Garba Night on October 15th, 2023, celebrating the Navratri festival with fellow Rotarians.
• Quarterly Meeting and New Member Welcome: Held a quarterly meeting on November 5th, 2023, at Boho Homes, welcoming new members and presenting them with membership certificates.
• District Seminar on TRF: Participated in a District seminar on The Rotary Foundation (TRF) on November 26th, 2023, with five members attending.
• Diwali Meet and Birthday Celebration: Celebrated Diwali and members’ birthdays on November 30th, 2023.
• District Governor’s Visit: Hosted the District Governor’s visit on November 30th, 2023.
• Sarvam Saksham – Tailoring Skill Training: Initiated the Sarvam Saksham project, providing tailoring skill training to empower individuals and promote self-reliance.

December 2023

• Stop Thalassemia Awareness Program: Conducted an awareness program on December 20th, 2023, at H A Commerce College, educating 200+ students and faculty about Thalassemia prevention and management.
• Blood Donation Drive: Organized a blood donation drive on December 4th, 2023, with Medilink Hospital, collecting 30 units of blood.
• Annual Fund Challenge Contribution: Contributed Rs. 8500 to the Annual Fund Challenge, supporting Rotary International’s global initiatives.

January 2024

• Umang District Conference: Attended the Umang District Conference on January 5th-7th, 2024, at Treat Resort, Silvassa, with two members participating.
• Sarva Sakshamam Tailoring Skill Training: Continued the Sarva Sakshamam project, providing tailoring skill training to 14 women with intermediate level and 1 with a full master course, along with cloth material for practicing. The project, worth Rs. 70,000, was donated by Rtn. Sonali Shah.
• Sarvam Bazaar: Organized Sarvam Bazaar on January 28th, 2024, an exhibition showcasing products and services.

February 2024

• Back to School – School Bag Distribution: Distributed 150 school bags to students in need on February 3rd, 2024, as part of the Back to School initiative. The project cost was Rs. 43,000 and was supported by a Rs. 25,000 donation from Jimi Desai.
• Rotary Club of Capetown Visit: Dr. Geetika and Bhushan Saluja visited the Rotary Club of Capetown on February 13th, 2023, meeting Rotarians from various countries and presenting them with Rotary pins.
• World Hypertension Day Walkathon: Participated in a Walkathon organized by Medilink Hospital and Dr. Manish & Dt. Shilpa Agrawal on February 17th, 2024, to raise awareness about hypertension.

March 2024

• Startup Mentoring: Mentored startups in the environment sector on March 1st, 2024, providing guidance and support for their innovative ideas.
• 3RGCL 1.0 – Striking for Mental Wellness: Participated in the 3RGCL 1.0 cricket tournament on March 3rd, 2023, promoting mental wellness and community engagement.
• GMN 5th Semester Fees Support: Supported Pinal Desai with GMN 5th-semester fees on March 5th, 2024, sponsored by Rtn Rajesh and Smita Shah.
• Kanchan Foundation Donation: Donated Rs. 3 lakh to Kanchan Foundation on March 13th, 2024, for an impact-oriented project to be undertaken by RCA Sarvam. The donation was given by Rtn Sonali Shah.
• Career Guidance Seminar: Organized a career guidance seminar for girls of Vinay Mandir Kanya Shala on March 8th, 2024, in collaboration with ROTRACTOR OF PDEU.
• Sarvam Saree Bank: Launched the Sarvam Saree Bank on March 18th, 2024, providing sarees to women in need.
• Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Part 1: Sponsored seven members to attend the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Part 1 on March 9th and 10th, 2024, with four completing the training successfully.
• Charity Dinner: Contributed Rs. 24,000 towards a charity dinner on March 10th, 2024, supporting a worthy cause.
• Udgagam Women Achievers Award: Hosted the Udgagam Women Achievers Award on March 18th, 2024, recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women.
• UTPRERNA – AGTS & DTTS: Dr. Geetika Saluja attended UTPRERNA – AGTS & DTTS at Fairfield Marriott Goa from March 22nd to 24th, 2024.
• 4th Convocation of Accounts with Tally Students: Celebrated the 4th convocation of students trained in Accounts with Tally at MP Arts and M H Commerce Women College on March 26th, 2024. A total of 417 girls have been trained since October 2021, including 243 for Tally with GST, 109 for Data Entry Operator, and 65 for Spoken English.
• Holi Ki Housie: 35 Sarvam members and their spouses participated in Holi Ki Housie with AGs of Ahmedabad.

April 2024

• PET SET – UTTHAN: Ankit and Payal Gandhi + Dr. Geetika participated in PET SET – UTTHAN from April 5th to 7th, 2024.
• RBL 2.0 – Sarvam Swans:** Participated in the RBL 2.0 cricket tournament from April 9th to 13th, 2024, with the Sarvam Swans team reaching the semifinals.
  • Rotary Youth Exchange Students Activities: Planned activities and interactions for Rotary Youth Exchange students.
  • Rotary Short Term Youth Exchange: Hosted two boys for the Rotary Short Term Youth Exchange program.

  May 2024

  • Beat with the Heat: Distributed 1000 glucose packets to 500 beneficiaries in Ahmedabad during the summer heat from May 15th to 31st, 2024. The project cost was Rs. 100,000 and was sponsored by Sayaji Maize Products.
  • RGT Participation: Members’ spouses participated in RGT.
  • Karaoke Night: Hosted a Karaoke Night with Rotary Supreme.

  June 2024

  • Environment Conscious Action: Took environment-conscious actions throughout June 2024.
  • 3R and U RECLAIM- REFURBISH- REPURPOSE AND UPCYCLE: Organized a workshop on June 4th, 2024, to raise awareness about eco-friendly practices and conducted a Reclaim paper workshop.
  • Bioenzyme Making Workshop: Hosted a Bioenzyme making workshop on June 5th, 2024, with 60 beneficiaries.
  • Environment Quiz: Conducted an Environment Quiz titled “I am Mindful Eco Citizen” on June 6th, 2024, in association with AMA.
  • Grocery Donation: Donated groceries to 60 families on July 13th, 2024. The project cost was Rs. 60,000 and was donated by Rtn. Sonali Shah.
  • Sarvam Family Photoshoot: Organized a Sarvam Family Photoshoot on June 21st, 2024.
  • Celebration with Senior Citizens: Hosted a celebration with 150 senior citizens on June 21st, 2024.
  • Mother and Child Nourishment: Provided nourishment to 60 new pregnant mothers on June 22nd, 2024, with a project cost of Rs. 9000.
  • Initiative to Save Matured Trees: Paid homage to matured trees that were cut for a new flyover construction on June 16th, 2024, and raised awareness about saving trees.

  Throughout the year, the Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Sarvam has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service, addressing various needs and making a positive impact in Ahmedabad and beyond.
